Fenmarc showed their support for National Chip Week (February 21st - 25th) through a variety of 'chiptastic' activities. See how we 'chipped' in!

Did you know that .....
• 7% of total energy intake in the UK population comes from potatoes?
• Potatoes contribute 10% to total carbohydrate intake in the UK?
• Current UK dietry guidelines also recommend 1/3rd of our daily food intake should come from starchy carbohydrate goods such as potatoes?
There are a great many misconceptions about chips and potatoes as part of a healthy balanced diet. They're getting a raw deal against other carbohydrates such as rice and pasta, yet chips can be as healthy or unhealthy as we make them; it all depends on how you cook them and what toppings you use.
Throughout National Chip week Fenmarc colleagues suggested their very own chip recipes which were posted onto our website recipe page. Some ideas were delicious but there were also a few downright weird and wacky ideas that you wouldn't find in any recipe book! Have a look at the suggestions made by downloading this PDF.
Colleagues here at our Potato packing facility in March, Cambrideshire were also treated to chips for lunch, cooked up by local chippy, Petrou's in March, using Fenmarc's very own fabulous spuds! And to finish the week,Fenmarc colleagues Clare and Gemma took 'Chips on Tour'; to Asda Superstore in Milton Keynes. Serving portions of chips to over 500 customers, we supported Potato Council's message about the place for chips in a healthy balanced diet and chatted with many Asda customers about the nation's beloved potato.
