From national industry initiatives to small-scale local events, we think it’s important to work alongside the communities we’re part of, supporting businesses and schools in a variety of ways.
Grow Your Own Potatoes
Each year we visit many local schools to help with their ‘Grow Your Own Potatoes’ project, giving tips and advice to help kids harvest their own bumper crops. Find out more about our involvement in the scheme at www.potatoesforschools.org.uk
Open Farm Sunday
In association with Open Farm Sunday, we invite local schools to join us at Hope Farm near Southery (Norfolk). Building on children’s knowledge and experience from the Grow Your Own Potatoes project, they learn how a working farm works! Neale Wade College Boom Biz Day
Fenmarc colleagues called on their inner Alan Sugar when they helped run a Boom Biz Day at local Neale Wade Community College. Boom Biz is a dynamic teambuilding tool that helps young people develop enterprise skills. Through a series of games devised by Boom Biz, Neale Wade students got involved in the thrills and spills of running a business. The day provided lots of fun as well as valuable insights into the ups and downs of making it in the business world.
Wimblington Village (March) Carrot Festival
Wimblington Village Carrot Festival was run by popular local The Anchor Inn to raise money and awareness for Macmillan Cancer Care. Our very own Katie Carrot was there to entertain the kids, and we supplied loads of tasty carrots for the event. The Anchor Inn raised a juicy figure of over £500 for charity, and generated a lot of fun in the process!
